Zopfsches House

Named after its owner, it once belonged to the landmarks of the city of Greiz, and is located on the corner of Schlossbergstrasse and Am Schlossberg.

Unfortunately, when the exterior staircase was torn down in 1924, some of the building's typical character was lost.  Nevertheless, even today it is an interesting structure because of its construction.  The building is literally "glued" to and built on the Palace Hill.  Earlier, fourteen steps rose from the ground floor outside the house.  One could reach the second floor with a wagon on the higher track located behind the house.  A path from the third floor led to level ground in the garden.
